Here is a collection of shots I did in Nuke using its 3D eNGINE IN IT TO SEE WHAT I COULD MAKE.
So I TOOK SOME 8K Maps of the Earth and Moon and used them as textures for 2 spheres in Nuke.
then I layered on top more 8k maps of clouds which I then used as alphas as well so I could get that transparency of clouds to create the atmosphere. then just keyframed a rotation to create the motion of the way the earth spins.
Then came adding the background which was just a plain with an image of stars as a background so I could then put it all together.
